The real Curaçao liqueur is an orange liqueur, available in five colors: blue, clear, orange, red, and green. Landhuis Chobolobo also offers other special liqueur flavors, such as chocolate, coffee, rum raisin, and tamarind.
During the tour, you will walk past the original copper boilers from 1896 that are still in use. On most days, you can see the actual production process, but it may also happen that you come during the distillation process. Then, there is no visible process of the Senior liqueur, but you can see the process of Landhuis Chobolobo's other local product: Alcolado Glacial.
If you have ever wanted to bring a taste of the Caribbean home, join Helmi Smeulders, Curacao’s own “Caribbean Chef,” for her Caribbean Cooking Class. Held weekly, you will cook with local ingredients like tamarind, plantain, and scotch bonnet chilies, then share your creations around a communal table in a warm, welcoming setting.
Once a month, Helmi hosts her Chef’s Table, an intimate multi-course dinner blending local freshness with international flair. We have joined before and it is as warm and flavorful as the dishes themselves.
Food lovers can dive deeper into Curacao’s culinary heritage with the Curacao Tours Culinary Tour. This guided four-hour experience takes place by bus and on foot, offering tastings of authentic dishes, local drinks, and even a signature cocktail. The tour ends with live music at Rif Fort Village, the perfect ending to a flavorful journey.
For travelers who prefer exploring at their own pace, PocketGuide Audio Tours offers two different CuliWalks and a Coffee Walk. Visit handpicked restaurants, bars, and cafés, each offering a small bite or drink, from creamy banana soup to tropical cocktails. No planning needed, just walk, taste, and enjoy.
No culinary journey in Curacao is complete without visiting the Blue Curacao Distillery at Landhuis Chobolobo. Learn how the island’s iconic liqueur is made, taste its tropical flavors, and sip a cocktail in the historic courtyard. Feeling inspired? Join the Cocktail Workshop to shake your own creations under the palms.
Rum lovers can also explore the world of Curacao rum at the AnnaBay Club. Visit The Rumlocker to learn about the island’s rum-making heritage, see parts of the distillation process, and taste their full range of white, amber, and aged rums. Their flavored rums made with natural fruit extracts are perfect for those who enjoy something sweeter.
