What can you expect?

This magical encounter at Dolphin Academy begins at either 8:30, 11:00, and 14:00. While standing in waist-deep water you will be able to gently pet a dolphin who will then give you a kiss and a handshake. The trainer will teach you all about dolphins, their body parts, and their behaviors. After the information about dolphins you will continue with interactive program in the water that takes about 20 minutes. Prior to the program, you will receive instructions from the dolphin trainers. After the encounter, we advise that you stay and walk around in the Sea Aquarium. You can learn more about Curacao's fascinating sea life, feed the nurse sharks, as well as the frolicking flamingos! A great day out for the family.

Entrance to the Sea Aquarium is included for participants
Babies up to and including 11 months of age are free of charge
Children ages 1 – 4 get a special price of $65
Toddlers and babies must be held by their parents
Children below a height of 1.30 m (4.27 ft) must be accompanied by a paying adult
For each child under 1.30 m (4.27 ft), there must be one paying adult present
Please arrive fifteen minutes before the program begins
This activity is safe for pregnant women
Family and friends are more than welcome to take photographs from the observer areas, no cameras allowed in the water
All observers, including parents/guardians signing waivers for minors, are required to pay the entrance fee at Curacao Sea Aquarium
After your encounter, you can visit the gift store for pictures or a nice souvenir
There is a limit of max of 6 people, per 1 dolphin

Additional information:

Dolphin Academy is one of the only facilities in the world that works with trained dolphins in the open sea.
The dolphins reside on the premises of the Curacao Sea Aquarium in four primary lagoons interconnected by secondary basins and canals. The lagoons are in contact with the ocean, allowing a constant flow of fresh seawater and numerous fish and invertebrate species.

Refund and Cancellation Policy:

A cancellation up to 24 hours prior to departure of the tour entitles the guest to a 100% refund.
Less than 24 hours prior to departure, the guest receives no refund unless due to illness accompanied by a valid doctor's statement.
In case of illness, only the person who is ill will receive a 100% refund. Other participants within the same booking that cancel the tour will not receive a refund unless otherwise decided by the supplier depending on the circumstances.
No-shows, or if you miss the tour because you are too late, and cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled activity will be charged the full price.
In case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances the tour will be rescheduled, if rescheduling is not possible or the new time is inconvenient for you, a full refund will be issued.

It's a really nice place to see the aquarium and dolphin show. We didn't do the dolphin swims, submarine, or deep ocean lens, but it was still totally worth it. Check their website for the daily schedule. There's plenty to see with just your basic entry ticket.

Unfriendly towards locals, Not willing to work things out....

We are locals and booked through the site and we had payed the normal rate instead of the local fees. Now a nice lady at the information desk us told to go and get our money back since we overpaid... after along long argument apparently they can't refund!?!? Normally I wouldn't be to pressed about money.... But the state of aquariums and the facility is beyond dilapidated the paint is peeling off the walls and the aquariums are all scratched up and completely green. The dolphin enclosures/lagoons seem very small for the amount of dolphins they have.. So yes I definitely feel like I overpaid tremendously. This less of a rehab center/animal focus and more just a tourist attraction...

The aquarium is small. The activities are where this place shines. If you can swim well and are comfortable with a snorkel take advantage of the opportunity. Swimming and diving with a dolphin was amazing. The animal encounter was such a unique experience as well. Staff are amazing. Thank you for making our trip so memorable.

Best dolphin snorkel you will ever find!!!

The snorkel experience was awesome!! We were in two groups of 3 and each had a dolphin to swim with. We could swim with the dolphin or dive with the dolphin. We could go one at a time or two (one on each side of the dolphin). Half way through they had the dolphin do a trick with echo location. at the end the dolphins swam under us and jumped over us. I loved swimming with the dolphins at my own pace, and you could see their eyes follow you to see what you wanted them to do next. It was amazing!! Our friend was able to sit in the seats right above the pool and video and take pictures of us. They were so accommodating. Everyone was so friendly!! I can’t recommend this enough!!
