What to expect?

Join Helmi's cooking class and discover the secrets of Caribbean cuisine. Learn how to use exotic ingredients like tamarind, plantain and Scotch bonnet chilies to create delicious dishes that are bursting with flavor. Chef Helmi will guide you through the intricacies of Caribbean spices, marinades and sauces, and reveal the cooking techniques that make this cuisine so unique. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned cook, this class is the perfect opportunity to expand your culinary repertoire and explore the vibrant flavors of the Caribbean.

You’ll be welcomed in the stylish and spacious air-conditioned kitchen with coffee and sweets, after which chef Helmi will give an extensive demo about Caribbean ingredients and typical island recipes. Then it’s time to cook! Under her expert guidance, you will prepare Caribbean dishes in this cooking class like jerk chicken, ceviche, homemade tortillas, funchi fries and sweet potato salad. Chef Helmi’s hands-on teaching style makes it easy for everyone to grasp the techniques and appreciate the nuances of Caribbean flavors. The morning ends with a feast of Caribbean delights to be shared at the communal table together with the other participants. You will leave with a full belly and newfound appreciation for the vibrant and delicious world of Caribbean cuisine.

We aim to respond to all enquiries within 24 hours.
If there is no availability for your selected date, we will contact you to discuss alternative dates.
In the event that no alternative date is suitable, you will receive a full refund to your card.
If you'd like to participate in this activity, but have an allergy, please reach out to us before booking the activity.

Refund and cancellation policy:

A cancellation up to 24 hours prior to departure of the tour entitles the guest to a 100% refund.
Less than 24 hours prior to departure, the guest receives no refund unless due to illness accompanied by a valid doctor's statement.
In case of illness, only the person who is ill will receive a 100% refund. Other participants within the same booking that cancel the tour will not receive a refund unless otherwise decided by the supplier depending on the circumstances.
No-shows, or if you miss the tour because you are too late, and cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled activity will be charged the full price.
In case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances the tour will be rescheduled, if rescheduling is not possible or the new time is inconvenient for you, a full refund will be issued.

We really enjoyed our stay at Landhuis Bona Vista. The location was ideal, central, in a safe and quiet neighborhood, and close to some nice restaurants and bars. Willemstad was also just a short drive away, which was very convenient. Linda and Sander were very friendly and welcoming and gave us helpful tips about the area. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The bed and pillows were comfortable, which made for a good night’s sleep. If we visit Curaçao again, we will definitely stay at Landhuis Bona Vista again. We highly recommend staying at Landhuis Bona Vista 🌴

I had a wonderful stay at Landhuis Bona Vista. The place is pure paradise. The rooms are very cozy and spacious, and the pool is so peaceful. Also a great location only a few minutes from Willemstad and the beach! The owners are the most kind and caring family. They truly go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. They also have the cutest Dog, Finn, make sure to throw a coconut a few times for him. Thanks again, and I highly recommend staying here for anyone visiting Curaçao!

We were at Landhuis Bona Vista for a week of vacation and we really like this hotel, it located in the high end part of Willemstad so it's quiet and surrounded by beautiful houses, mansions with lush gardens. We cook a lot so it's convenient that the Centrum Super market is only 5 minutes away (walking 🚶), and we like the kitchen as well but the only thing missing is a microwave. The host, Linda and Sander, are extremely nice and helpful, they responded to our needs almost immediately after we call. Note that the hotel door is always closed so if you arrive the first-time you should call them in advance to let them know so they will open the door for you or else you have to honk real loud if you drive there so they can hear you. Beautiful place and amazing hosts! The grocery store is a 5 minute walk and the beach and rest of the city are easily accessible by car. I definitely recommend!
