Experience Curacao in the most magical way by joining Rock Climbing Curacao’s Full Moon Hike - an enchanting evening adventure on the iconic Tafelberg where you’ll witness a breathtaking sunset and descend under the glow of the full moon. This walk takes place only once a month, only during the full moon, and therefore takes place on a different date each month.

What can you expect?

Embark on a unique hiking experience that combines adventure, nature, and the mystical beauty of Curacao at night. The Full Moon Hike takes you on an 8.5 km journey to the top of Tafelberg, where you’ll enjoy panoramic views as the sun sets over the island and the Caribbean Sea.

As the moon rises, its bright natural light illuminates the rocky trails, creating a surreal atmosphere where, at times, you can even turn off your headlamp and walk guided only by moonlight. This hike is suitable for anyone with a basic fitness level - no previous hiking experience required.

Along the way, you’ll encounter untouched nature, diverse landscapes, and nighttime flora and fauna that you would never see during the day. The experience is calm, energizing, and unforgettable, making it one of the most unique outdoor adventures on Curacao.

Where will this tour take you?

The journey begins at the Rock Climbing Curacao shop, located on the grounds of Santa Barbara Plantation. From there, you’ll start your hike through gentle, green terrain before gradually climbing the rugged paths leading to the Tafelberg summit.

Once at the top, you’ll reach the scenic Proa viewpoint - offering a stunning panorama of the island, inland bays, and coastline. As daylight fades into golden-hour colors, the moonlight takes over, guiding you on your descent along rocky trails back down the mountain.

With views of Curacao’s natural beauty and the night sky above you, this hike delivers a magical and serene adventure like no other.

Meeting & pick up:

Participants must arrive 15 minutes before departure
No pick-up service included - guests must arrive with their own transportation

What to bring:

Sturdy sneakers or hiking boots
At least 1 liter of water per person
Small backpack
Snacks or energy bars for the journey

Know before you go:

Total hiking distance is approximately 8.5 km / 5.3 miles
No hiking experience required, but good physical condition is recommended
Part of the hike takes place in darkness, a headlamp is mandatory and will be provided in exchange for ID

Reservation process:

Booking this tour will initiate an enquiry for availability. Booking requests do not guarantee availability.
We aim to respond to all enquiries within 24 hours.
If there is no availability for your selected date, we will contact you to discuss alternative dates.
In the event that no alternative date is suitable, you will receive a full refund to your card.

Refund and Cancellation Policy:

A cancellation up to 24 hours prior to departure of the tour entitles the guest to a 100% refund.
Less than 24 hours prior to departure, the guest receives no refund unless due to illness accompanied by a valid doctor's statement.
In case of illness, only the person who is ill will receive a 100% refund. Other participants within the same booking that cancel the tour will not receive a refund unless otherwise decided by the supplier depending on the circumstances.
No-shows, or if you miss the tour because you are too late, and cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled activity will be charged the full price.
In case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances the tour will be rescheduled, if rescheduling is not possible or the new time is inconvenient for you, a full refund will be issued.

Absolutely amazing experience! Jaime was thoughtful and patient and made sure we had the best routes for our experience level and ensured we were safe the entire time. We did the 1/2 with abseiling and that was amazing. The repelling was perfect and a great way to end the adventurous day. Great cruise excursion as they picked us up from the port without issues and cheaper than a taxi would have been. 2 adults and 2 teens - great time for everyone!
