We deden de Standard Guided Tour bij Landhuis Chobolobo, het thuis van de echte Blue Curaçao. Onze gids nam ons mee door het hele distillatieproces, van de echte vruchtenboom buiten tot het vullen van de flessen binnen, en ze wist echt alles, als ze een antwoord niet wist haalde ze er een collega bij die het wel wist. Het leukste was leren waarom de fles eruitziet zoals hij eruitziet, veel interessanter zodra je het verhaal erachter kent. Je krijgt één cocktail erbij, kinderen zijn ook helemaal welkom, zij krijgen alleen de proeverij niet, alcohol is strikt 18+. Geen airco in de grote zaal, dus ga vroeg of laat op de dag en trek iets luchtigs aan. Het is rolstoeltoegankelijk, wel goed om te weten dat je ongeveer een uur staat.

We rolled the dice and went bust on the tour. They were fully booked the day we came. No big deal though because a lovely shop assistant let us know we could go through the museum for free. That lead to a tasting of three flavors for a tip and then on to the bar area where you could buy a cocktail or two and visit the restroom. We found it interesting that they also make a menthol product similar to Vicks Vaporub. Didn’t miss the tour and actually glad we missed it.

Site of the original Curacao distillery, the displays inside teaches visitors about the process of making the product and family history of the Senior family. Visitors were able to sample the original liquor as well as other flavors. They have a store and bar to purchase drinks.
