What to expect?

This off-road adventure with BlueFinn Charters takes you straight into the wild side of Curaçao. You get your own bandana and dust goggles, hop into your UTV and set off in convoy behind an experienced guide who knows every trail.

Driving a UTV is already fun on the open road, but the real thrill starts the moment you hit the rugged Hato plains. You navigate sandy tracks, rocky terrain, winding trails and uneven paths through untouched nature, with plenty of stops along the way for photos, stories and a swim. Expect to come back with sandy shoes, a big smile and memories that last.

Where does this tour take you?

Your first stop is at the island's impressive wind turbines, towering high above the landscape. This is the Middle Curaçao Formation, a unique geological area shaped over millions of years, and your guide fills you in on the story behind it. From there you head deeper into the countryside to a hidden natural cave, a lesser-known treasure that shows off Curaçao's raw and untamed beauty.

The trail continues toward Bullenbaai, where the iconic white oil tanks create a striking contrast against the natural scenery and turquoise coastline.

Next you arrive at Vaersenbaai, better known as Kokomo Beach, the perfect spot for a refreshing break. Take a swim in the crystal-clear Caribbean water and wash off the dust of the trail while you soak up the island vibe.

On the way back you pass the salt flats of Sint Michiel, one of Curaçao's most important flamingo habitats. Keep your eyes open, because with a bit of luck you will spot these graceful pink birds in their natural environment.

  • Sun Protection: Apply sunscreen before the tour and consider bringing additional protection like a hat or sunglasses.
  • Towel: Bring a beach towel for drying off after the beach stop.
  • Identification: Drivers must carry a valid driver’s license and keep it secure during the tour. 

Know before you go:

  • Price is per UTV (same price for 1 or 2 persons).
  • Drivers must be 21+ and must show a valid driver’s license.
  • Passengers must be at least 1.20 m tall (3'11).
  • Not recommended for guests with back or joint problems, pregnant women, or young children.
  • Guides speak 4 languages: English, Spanish, Dutch, and Papiamentu.
  • Beach chairs are available for rent at your own cost (subject to availability) .
  • Only 4 UTV's available.

We booked a catamaran trip with them to Klein Curaçao in June. Even before boarding, the first problem became obvious when we ended up in a massive queue of people boarding - there were simply too many people. There must've been at least 40 guests on the boat, plus the crew, making the whole experience very crammed. We've been on other similar trips on other carribean islands and there were less than 15 guests on board, making the whole experience much nicer. The price and duration was about the same here as those other trips, so we didn't expect so many more people. As for the food and drinks on board - the first part was sad. They provided some buns with either a single slice of cheese or salami as breakfast. There were no alcoholic drinks served until lunch and only on the boat. Nevertheless the BBQ lunch was great so was the selection of drinks once the bar was open. The other thing we didn't like about the trip is that it was too short. 2 hours to get there, about 1 hour to do whatever on the island, then back to the boat for lunch (about 1 hour), then back to the island for less than 2 hours, and then 2 hours back to Curaçao. We didn't really have much time to relax on the island, and then just when the party was getting started, we arrived back. I would suggest adding 1 hour on the island and maybe go a bit slower on the way back to make it not feel so rushed. Despite these, it was an enjoyable day, but there's plenty of room for improvement.

We took BlueFinn for both the snorkeling excursion and the Klein Curaçao trip, and both experiences were outstanding. The lunch provided was delicious, and the crew did an excellent job taking care of all the guests throughout the day. The included beverages, including the alcoholic drinks, were great as well. We had an amazing time on both tours and would highly recommend them.

My wife and I came to Curaçao for our honeymoon, and only booked one excursion off the resort while we were here. We are so glad the one we chose was Bluefinn. The staff was super friendly, informative, and lively. They got a dance party going on the way back from the island and everybody joined in. The food the crew cooked was delicious, and there was an open bar! The island was beautiful and so relaxing as well. Thanks for the best experience captain Max and crew!

Fun day on the water! Zariff and his crew were welcoming and fun upon our arrival and throughout the entire day. It's a 2hr and 30min Safe and beautiful ride to Klein beach. We were served a light breakfast. The ride to the beach is choppy so prepare with dramamine. We were served a delicious lunch with open bar from noon until 5pm. It was a fun party with music on the smooth ride back. Highly recommend joining this charter! The blue water and clean beach at Klein can't be missed.

My first time on a catamaran and Blue Finn made it a fruitful experience. Their captain was so engaging and humorous throughout the whole trip We traveled to Klein Curaçao to swim on the beach where Palapas and sun loungers were available to use and because it was such a little Island, we got to do a little exploring. There was a light house in the center of the island and a ship wreck on the other side of the island. However, you couldn't swim on the other side due to the rocks and large waves crashing in
