The Curaçao Rif Mangrove Park is a hidden gem and truly one of a kind – the first and only natural mangrove park in the world that’s open to the public.
We had an amazing experience with our guide Izzy, who is without a doubt the best park ranger! He explained the full history of the mangroves and the surrounding area with so much passion and knowledge, making the tour both educational and fun.
The park itself is beautiful and peaceful – clean water, fresh air, and absolutely no smell. Along the way, we got to see and even hold harmless jellyfish, spotted different kinds of fish, crabs, conch, and many bird species.
There are options for both a guided walking tour and a guided kayak tour, each giving you a unique way to explore this incredible ecosystem. Prices are very reasonable (with special rates for locals).
If you’re visiting Curaçao, this place is a must-do for nature lovers, families, and anyone who wants to learn more about the island’s unique environment. Highly recommended!

Enjoyed walking around the park. Saw a couple of birds and fish and also an iguana.
I wanted to do the kayak but you can't do it solo it is a guided tour. That would be my only request is that I would want to do the kayak on my own . But I get it

I was staying at the Riff at Mangrove Hilton hotel right next to it.
A guided kayak tour is $25 per person.
Overall, the tour lasts around 1 to 1.5 hours.
Our guide was super kind and caught many aquatic marine shell life during our tour and showed us.
It's interesting to hear how this forest/park started and what it's become.

Visiting the mangrove park should be a must when in Curaçao! Their work preserving the mangrove forest is impressive. The guide helped me and my brother kayaking because it was our first time doing it! He was amazing, he did not only taught us about the importance of mangroves all around the world, but especially for Curaçao. He taught us about this mangrove particular history, which was very interesting I must admit. As well about the types we could find in our tour. He was immensely patient, and kind with us. For sure he knows the importance of the mangroves and how to protect biodiversity in the area. We saw Herons, Venezuelan turpials, jellyfish 🪼, lion fish, crabs 🦀. We learnt a lot while having fun and a peaceful relaxing time! I’m sorry I don’t remember our guide’s name, but thank you, you made our experience a the highlight of my trip! Also that I couldn’t take a lot of pictures. It was my first time kayaking and was scared of drowning my phone. Nonetheless this tour definitely a must do; whether you take the trail path or the kayak. It’s amazing experience you won’t regret!

Rif-mangrove is a great way to do a quick escape from the international downtown dristrict of Willemstad to some coastal-island vibes.
It is walking distance from Punda and in Otra Banda.
The lush mangrove is uncharacteristic of much of the island of Curacao, which is generally topical desert.
The jellyfish in the mangrove water and the crabs that have dug their homes in the shoreline were my highlights. We also saw fish and several species of tropical birds.

★ 4.5 (74)Lovely morning with nature in curacao
Lovely educational slow paced park. Wonderful ranger led kayak tour that let us get close to many things and appreciate a whole new perspective about mangrove trees. Ranger ice was such a delight.
Not worth it.
We were going to do the walk but for $15 US we thought again. Locals are only $2. Just to walk 1 kilometre around the boardwalk we found that the cost was kind of ridiculous. We did not do the walk. No seniors rates either. I think $10 would be much more realistic. Or $5 for seniors.
What a fun family activity right at the resort
My family had an excellent time on this kayaking tour. Eli and Tyce were welcoming, knowledgeable, and made the experience fun for everyone. Tyce did a fantastic job as our guide. At $25 per adult and $5 per child, it’s an incredible value. We saw geckos, a blue heron, upside-down jellyfish, iguanas, and more. Highly recommend!
