Serena Israel: the colorful heart behind Chichi®️.


The German artist Serena Israel, once employed at the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, found her destiny on Curacao. After a sailing trip across the Atlantic Ocean, she settled on the island, where her creativity led to the birth of Chichi®️. Inspired by the loving older sister from Caribbean culture.

Serena’s mission goes beyond art. She creates opportunities and employment on Curacao by:

• Every Tuesday and Saturday morning

• Walk-in between 09:00 and 09:15

What to expect:


• A warm welcome with coffee and tea

• Choose your favorite sculpture (Chichis and other shapes)

• Explanation about the origin of Chichi®️ and the production process

• Clear painting instructions

• You paint your own colorful artwork

• You take your artwork home the same day

During the workshop:

• Professional check and labeling of your sculpture
